Introduction

Concerto Marketing is the first and only firm in North America to perform market research, strategy development and brand communications together with one outcome in mind – market certainty. Providing research, strategy and brand services for the past 27 years to many leading organizations all over North America, it had already gone through many IT refresh projects and they were ready to explore an alternative way of doing IT.

Challenge

Having to refresh hardware and software again, as well as requiring a more robust backup and disaster recovery solution, the thought of having to spend a pile of money and resources on this issue, was no longer appealing to Concerto. Due to the growth of Concerto’s business, the need to have a more redundant infrastructure became increasingly important since they simply could not afford to have any more downtime. Email communications with their partners and clients had become critical and having that reside on a single server in-house was no longer a viable option.

Solution

Having worked with Concerto for the past 8 years, Dyrand knew Concerto’s business IT requirements very well and were well equipped to provide the exact type of solution they needed. Dyrand would easily be able to provide the required redundancy and highly available systems ensuring that Concerto would never again have to worry about IT refresh projects.

Dyrand had a intimate knowledge of the applications Concerto utilized for their business, so they designed a solution that hosted some of the data and applications in their Kelowna datacenter, and would house some of the more robust applications on premise. This allowed daily replication to send the data to Kelowna. This provided the required uptime and redundancy that Concerto now needed.

Dyrand would provide all of the hosting and the necessary hardware and software that would be on premise, allowing Concerto to never again be faced with the daunting task of an IT refresh. This responsibility would be now borne by Dyrand, allowing Concerto to be able to focus on their business.

Results

The solution turned out to be just what Concerto desired. They no longer suffered the downtime that comes with having single points of failure, and the owners could now rest easy knowing that all of their data resided in two physical locations; their disaster and recovery worries were now eliminated. In addition to this, the strict security requirements at the datacenter allowed Concerto to work with more secure conscious companies and agencies that may have been a problem previously. It also meant that all IT budgeting was now accounted for, the whole solution provided by Dyrand in a single monthly fee and includes all of the required support for Concerto’s business and staff.
